Courtney Childress, CPL

Welcome to The Mineral Advocate, a journey born from passion and a desire to make a difference in the lives of mineral owners. I'm Courtney Childress, the heart behind this venture, and I'd like to share my story with you.
As the Founder and CEO, my journey into the intricate world of mineral ownership advocacy began in 2018, after spending 10 years in the oil and gas business working for the oil and gas companies. The driving force behind starting The Mineral Advocate was a deep-seated commitment to bring fairness and transparency to an industry that often operates in the shadows.
I am a Certified Professional Landman (CPL) with an extensive educational background that includes a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising from the University of Central Oklahoma and an Associate of Arts in Journalism from Rose State College.
In 2013, I achieved a Petroleum Land Management Certification in Oil and Gas from Oklahoma City University. Committed to continuous learning, I participated in the Women in Leadership program at Harvard Extension School in 2021. The CPL designation further underscores my dedication to excellence in the field, providing me with a solid foundation and expertise as I navigate the intricate realm of mineral ownership and oil and gas negotiations. I look forward to working with you!
